4 Days 3 Nights SIMIEN MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

Transportation: Surface

Day 1: Gondar – Sankaber

Depart early in the morning and drive approximately 100 km to Debark, where you will meet your scout, guide and trekking staff.  Afterward, continue the drive for about 30 km to Sankaber. Along the way, you will experience the stunning Beauty of the highlands, with opportunities to spot the famous Gelada Baboons also known as the Bleeding Heart Baboons. Overnight at a campsite in Sankaber.

Day 2: Sankaber – Geech

In the morning, begin Your hike along the ridge,taking in breathtaking views of the foothills below.  You will come across the valley of the jinbar River, which flows into the Geech abyss. After relaxing by the beautiful waterfall, continue your trek to Geech village. Overnight at a campsite in Geech.

Day 3: Geech – Chennek

After an early breakfast, set out on a 7-8 hour trek to explore the stunning landscape of Simen mountain national park. At an altitude of approximately 4,070 meter, you will be treated to panoramic views in every direction. Lunch will be served at a scenic spot along the escarpment, where you can relax and try to spot the Walia ibex and if you are lucky, the elusive Ethiopian Red Fox in the afternoon or early morning. Overnight at a campsite Chennek.

Day 4: Geech – Ambaras – Gondar

Start your morning Trek to the Imet Gogo promontory, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the mountains. Along the way, you may catch a glimpse of the magnifcent lammergeyer vultures soaring above. After enjoying the views trek back to the road near Ambaras village and continue by car to either Gondar or Debark. The trek will takes about 4-5 hours. Overnight at a hotel in Gondar.
